Our Promise

Retirement-4-U has been around since 2001 and we are committed to being around for many years to come. We survive on our good reputation, our customers' successful retirements and their recommendations. Therefore it is always in our best interest to give you the best possible retirement plan.

We provide accurate, unbiased retirement plans for a simple one-time fee. We do not suggest investments because investment suggestions would, by their nature, skew our advice. We do not take cuts from anyone or attempt to manage your investments.

Our service is straightforward, complete and one-time with no hidden costs, or associated maintenance fees.

Our History

We have nearly 85 years of combined experience in retirement planning, and over 50 years of software development which we have used to program our proprietary retirement software.

Retirement-4-U was born out of frustration at the state of existing retirement analysis for early retirement planning. Neither retirement analysis software from the Internet or off-the-shelf financial retirement analysis programs provided the information, scope or reassurance that we wanted: because our individual financial positions, pattern of expenses and retirement goals had not been specifically addressed.

The lack of a comprehensive, quality service inspired us to created our own system for retirement analysis, which includes a mix of person-to-person and computer analysis. We developed our own computer software that could handle the routine parts of early retirement planning. Yet we also understood that only by combining the power of technology with a human capacity to integrate unplanned and unusual specifics could a retirement system ever be complete.

We developed and exhaustively tested our retirement analysis system, used it to plan our own retirements, and now use it to successfully plan those of our clients.

Our Team

Retirement-4-U has four retirement consultants all with long experience in budget management and computer software development. Between us we have 51 years combined experience in software development, and 78 years in financial forecasting and the development of budget management tools.

Our ages range from 44 to 62 (similar to the age group of our clients) which gives us a unique and realistic understanding of our clients' retirement outlook and problems.

Steve Carkeek

At 60, Steve Carkeek has had a long and distinguished career.

Starting “on the ground floor” as a licensed FAA aircraft mechanic, Steve retired 31 years later as the manager of a department responsible for assets of $648 million, an annual budget of $15 million and responsibilities in Denver, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC, London and Singapore.

An earlier responsibility included managing a computer department that developed a system converting Engineering and Maintenance information from paper documents into digital formats, winning a national Smithsonian Institution award for their work.

Steve and his family are active in their community, attending Church and donating time to the Cancer Society, Care for the Blind and other local charitable causes.

Where We Are

Retirement-4-U is based in San Francisco, California, with retirement consulting staff located in Denver, Indianapolis and Atlanta.

Although in constant contact to discuss client benefits and trends in retirement consulting, our geographical spread is vital to keeping us in touch with housing and other local trends across the USA - an advantage put to invaluable use when analyzing the retirement plans of our many clients across the United States.

We completely respect your financial privacy. We will never ask for bank account numbers, social security numbers, credit card numbers or any other financial information that is not necessary to complete your financial analysis.

We gather your information in a series of emails so that your personal data is never in one place, over the Internet. And your information is always completely destroyed once you have confirmed the receipt of your retirement plan. With us your privacy is protected.
